Introducing:

Without a Doubt is a short, fiery piece that features 3 tom toms and a cymbal PLUS a woodblock. Unlike my other tunes where the woodblock plays the role of the cuban clave, here it is faster and more frenetic; based around the feel of classical Chinese Opera. In fact, this is no coincidence: this tune was written one afternoon as I was riding my bicyle through the streets of Beijing, listening to the unmistakable sounds of China.

The 5 instruments in the score are very common in schools, but as always if you don’t have them, they can be substituted for junk percussion, or other percussion instruments.

Opens with a BANG!

Just like Chinese fireworks! The toms and the cymbal all hit together in unison, while the woodblock builds quickly and quietly from beneath, soon joined by the lowest tome tom.
